When has the Weather service accurately predicted the Weather even a week ahead?

I say we should do whatever possible to make the USA the worse possible manufacturing enviornment on the Planet. Let's tax the crap out of everything (We're only #2 in corporate taxation and should strive to be #1), make raw materials the most expensive (we can't even buy the material for what China can make parts for now), get the EPA all over every corporation to fine them as much as possible and get rid of what little is left of American made products while our competition operates unabated with government subsidies while adding inspection fees and tarrifs on anything we try to sell them while 30 to 50% of their machined products made on our old outdated machinery are out of tolerance and either need rework or end up in the scrap bin here, but are still way cheaper to purchase than we can produce it here for. I know that to be true because I work on their crap every day at work.  :grinyes:

And let's also scap our gas-guzzling muscle cars and SUV's and buy smart cars.
You won't need a pickup if you don't have a job to go to anymore anyway. Just a two seater smart car or a rail car to go pick up your government check and your Tofu. We should outlaw animals like chickens and cows too because they fart and pollute the air.

And while we're desperately trying to cool the Planet down let's mandate that everybody use either wind or Solar energy to heat and cool their house. Never mind the energy used or the pollution created manufacturing all that new stuff. Let's make wood, oil,  gas and electric stoves and heaters illegal. That stuff is probably all made in China now anyway.

Let's also outlaw asphalt roads too, because they use crude oil byproducts in the asphalt. Asphalt containing materials find application not only in paving and road construction, but also in roofing, coatings, adhesives, and batteries, so lets just outlaw them all.   :thinkerg:
Once we had Ronald Reagan, Bob Hope & Johnny Cash. Now we have Obama, No Hope and No Cash!

71Challey,

You're right on the money.  I really don't see the US coming out of this recession anytime soon.  Everyone should take a step back and take stock.  Do we actually produce anything that the rest of the world needs?  We consume, all based on debt.  I'm not sure where it is today, but the trade deficit usually runs $20-40B a MONTH.

That means we ship $30 billion dollars out of the country EVERY month.  We really need to create more manufacturing jobs, not tax them out of business.  You can bet China will not follow our misguided green agenda.

I only have two things to say.

One, come on, how can you possibly believe that global warming is making sheep smaller? Just because some scientist is at a university and comes up with some idea like this doesn't make it absolutely right. Look at tornadoes. I know this is a weird analogy, but here it is. For a while everyone was saying "Close your windows. It will keep the house from rupturing". Then it was "Open the windows, the pressure must be allowed to equalize." Then it was back to "Close them." Or, look at the wolf population in Yellowstone park. The wolves have far outgrown endangered status. The population in that area is big. They are killing all the other animals in the area to the point that they will soon be endangered. But "greenies" or "hippies" or whatever you want to call them managed to coerce the Government into keeping them on the endangered list because they didn't want hunters to hunt them. They don't know anything about conservation, they just have their "ideals" and are ruining the ecosystem of one of the country's great parks because of it. So, why couldn't the so called "scientists" pull off something so outrageously insane as "Global Warming"? Answer that one. And for the "fluctuations in CO2" or whatever argument you have, if everything else in nature has a cycle, why wouldn't CO2? Besides, don't trees turn CO2 into O2? And, considering the population of the world is growing at an incredible rate, why wouldn't less trees have an effect on the CO2 level? Explain that one.

Two, I forgot because I went off on that one. When I remember I will post it.

My take on the Global Warming Myth has always been:

Man produces LESS than 3/10 of ONE percent of greenhouse gasses produced each year.  Othen than the fact that the earth is in a cooling trend, how in the world could man be responsible anyway ?

As I said in my earlier post the only studies that show that the earth is in a cooling trend only look back a few years and so are meaningless. I do agree with your assessment that there are a lot of other factors contributing to warming. Cow farts, for instance as mentioned earlier.

One good thing to come of all of this is fantastic new products like the SMUDA II  :2thumbs:
1970 Cuda 340 4-speed
3:55 SureGrip
Owned since 1974
Bought from original owner
