Best AutoShippers? Anyone ship cars on this forum?
« on: July 03, 2009 - 01:09:15 AM »
I took a new job in Barstow, California. My car is still in Northfield (Cleveland/Akron), Ohio. I am ready to have it shipped. Open transport is fine. The car runs and drives great but isn't a show car, just a driver. Any suggestions? Recommendations? Thanks.

of course Ive seen Reliable on the commercials but am using a company called National transport LLC. Found them online and they are based in Florida so I suppose do mostly east coast stuff. I'm shipping from Connecticut to Florida and they are picking up the car next Tuesday, and say it should arrive in 5-7 days, enclosed carrier ($400 more).  They sub the work out, as I suspect most do, including DAS I believe.
I'll let you know how it goes. I will definitely be having the departure and arrival condition noted with pictures, especially under the front and rear of the car.

   :iagree:

The last car I had shipped was thru FedEx custom critical. Now I thought I was dealing with FedEx...Nope.  My car sat for a few days until some driver was in the area. Then some good ole boy finally brought it up my way. I had no problems, but he was just some guy with a trailer making money on the side.

I just had my '66 Plymouth Fury VIP shipped from South Carolina to here in California so I have recent experience.

I used Anytime Auto Transport. I was very saftisfied. I called on a Wedneday to set up shipping. I said that the seller of the car won't be at home Friday and Saturday, so any other day would be okay for pickup. They said it could be picked up on the following Monday but called me back a few hours later and said they could pick it up on Friday of the same week!

They estimated shipping would take approximately 5 days; it was delivered on the morning of the 6th day.

Website is http://www.aaaanytime.com
Check out the "about us" page. They give warnings on what to look for when choosing a shipping company. Including some that will park a car being transported at a terminal for several days. Mine was on the truck the entire time. They use two drivers which is how they can ship cars coast to coast in less than one week.

I highly recommend this company and it has an A- rating from the BBB.

Here are a few photos I took of the car still on the carrier moments after it arrived at my house...

I take it they used the rollback to get your car off the trailer. Was that included in the price? Just curious...

Yes, the rollback.

Price for coast-to-coast shipping was $948. I found other lower estimates, like $870, but I'm glad I used this company to ship my car.

I have a friend that has a car hauler service along with his son.  His name is Glen Goughan (not sure of spelling), I can't remember the name of his service but his number is 417-872-9821.  Very nice guy and big into Mopars, between my brother-in-law and I we have had over a dozen cars delivered by him and never any problems.  Give him a call, Hope this helps.

Always had good luck with Passport Transport (now owned by Fed Ex Custom Critical).  Have had 2 of our 3 cars shipped by them without incident.

I just wanted to update everyone on my auto shipping for anyone who will or might ship a car.

I am already very upset with my choice, http://www.aaaanytime.com/, that was recommended by several people.

Before I vent, I will give them the benefit of the doubt and see how everything plays out.  I don't think this will go well, though. We will see.
