I think she's great...a breath of fresh air on the national political scene. And among other reasons, my bet is she quit because she knew that Alaskans deserved someone who could spend all their time serving Alaska, and she could no longer do that.
She may not be the most intelligent person to ever run for president, or the most experienced, but at least as far as experience goes, I'll put her up against Obama anytime. The media is always threatened when someone who did not graduate from an Ivy league school pops up on the radar. The smear machine starts cranking up.

OK, "whoor" must be a quapman thing. I say it all the time. I still misspelled it on purpose and know how to spell "whore". I always punctuate. It's what I was taught in school and it's common courtesy to the reader. I took a while to respond because I was working on the car and having a bite to eat. My world really doesn't revolve around CC.com, sorry. (I do spend wayyyyyyyy too much time here, though    )

I honestly try not to get down to the personal level with these threads. I purposely kept it to my main gripe, SP, and didn't generalize about "the right". The more I learn, the less I like or trust ALL elected officials. Left, right, they all suck, but I forget how quickly it becomes them-VS-us around here. Sorry for messing with your box, Pandora!

I'm just tired of seeing Sara Palin (and Michael Jackson) everywhere, especially in a banner ad on a message board whose subject matter is cars. Period.

I think SP is an idiot. I think MJ was a pedophilic freak. I think Chevvies are boring. I like Challengers better than Cudas, but Cudas are OK, too. As stated before, think what you like, but why attack ME for my opinion? Unless, of course, one of the above is a relative of yours..........

I draw the line at being an "Idiot" somewhere south of knowing the price of a gallon of gasoline, that it's impossible for 500 Million more Americans to be unemployed in a months time (and repeating that lie several other times) or that there isn't 59 States.

Another thing to think about, if you were put through the media wringer (for no other reason than to "make fun" and had no real dirt) and your family was taking the brunt of relentless scrutiny, wouldn't you want to take a breather?

This is a great point actually. While I do not pretend to know what her motivations are in stepping aside as Governor, if she can not take the heat running a single state, how could she expect it to get better trying to run the whole country?

She has a new kid at home that needs his mommy. I honestly hope that is why she is stepping down - for his sake.

It's fine to have an opinion.  There just like A-holes, everyone has one and they all smell, but what's the point of posting it here?  I like a good political thread every now and then, but what's the point of your ranting on this issue?  You don't care for her, fine, move on and get along with your life.

I think maybe 500K in legal bills over unproven and unsubstantiated allegations might have had something to do with it. Some might think she's just a lightweight politician, but obviously some view her as a major threat or they wouldn't waste all their time trying to destroy her.

Exactly right. If she was not a threat to the Dems then they would not have put their liberal media dogs onto her. She even gets made fun of for defending her young daughter who was smeared by David Letterman? And before I get railed on for bringing that back up lets just ask ourselves how the American public and media would react if Dave stood on stage and said A-Rod had sex with Obama's daughter. Yeah, the reaction would have been totally different.
