Windshield Wipers
« on: July 06, 2009 - 09:24:04 PM »
I don't have anything here to compare these windshield wipers with, so I have to ask if the wipers on EBAY,

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160346197906&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT#ebayphotohosting

are correct for a 73 Barracuda? I have to find some somewhere before my car will even pass the state safety inspection.
Thanks in advance

Weren't two speed and 3-speed wiper arms different? I don't know which these are.   :1zhelp:

The arms themselves are the same for both, it's the machanism inside the cowl that's different from 2 to 3 speed.

Those arms do look correct.

Probably a stupid follow up question; but that's pretty normal for me.
Are the wiper arms normally painted bright silver? Or black? Or??? I bought the ones I originally posted the question about, but they need some finish work.

Should just be natural finish, but can be buffed.  Try acetone to get the paint off if that is what it is.

I usually clean them up with some lacquer thinner and a scotch-brite pad, then wipe with a clean paer towel and give them a good uniform finish with dry scotch-brite.

This is not to say that you'll get a concour correct finish using this method. It's just my process.
