Will the SRT* Charger wheels fit on my 73 'Cuda
« on: July 07, 2009 - 10:42:33 PM »
??? I am looking to put some new shoes on my Cuda'. I was looking to do something newer like the SRT-8 Charger Rims. I am 90% sure that the Bolt pattern is the same and that I will need spacers. Smallest size I can get is 20x9. My only concern is the rims will rub against my wheel well on turns. Thanks for the help!  :working:

I think you will have some serious rubbing issues if you try the new wheels on your Cuda. There just isn't enough back spacing to pull it off.

I too think even with spacers think it's a no go....

On my 73 Challenger I had to watch tire width because of the edge of the wheel during a turn hitting the fender.
The SRT's have massive tires, and even my SXT has the premium wheels that would be too large.

I dont know abut back spacing on those but they are 20" wheels. Even if you did get them undercut for the hub, spacers, etc its still a 20" wheel. You probably wont be able to put much rubber around them. I considered them and the spoked Charger wheels at one time.  The Charger wheels are 18"s and can be done with some mods.

Yeah but with 20" wheels there isn't supposed to be much side wall.  If you can get the wheels to fit and your tires aren't more than 25" or 26" tall, you might have a shot.  Are the bolt patterns at least the same?  What's the wheel width and backspacing on a new charger wheel?

The wheels can be either 9" or 10" wide. I am not sure about the back spacing though.
