Heater Core Tips
« on: July 09, 2009 - 12:41:34 PM »
I have to replace a leaky heater core.

Any tips or tricks?

Is it easier to pull to whole heater box out, or just pull it apart in the car.

I recently had the box out for some major repairs and a rebuild, so it should come out easy enough (obviosuly I should have also replaced the heater core at that time  :banghead: :pullinghair:)

I don't think you could pull the heater core out without pulling the whole box.  After all, you have to open the box just to get at the core.

Very easy to remove the whole box.... I did a Duster in the car once..WRONG approach.
Be aware of the little hook in the passenger side vent that catches on the cowl.
