Thanks guys, it's been a while since I've been on the board here.
Unfortunately I have not had the time or the cash to work on my baby.
I did spend more than a few days this sUmmer DRIVING my Challenger.
It was scary, relaxing, enthralling and nerve racking, all at the same time.
I'm saving up for among other repairs- a pair of seats and a paint job.
I'll try to update this thread a bit.

Life does tend to get in the way at times.  It is nice to see it coming along, and i know what you mean about all the emotions when you drive it!  we'll all have a beer in your honor when it is complete!

Time for an update!!!
It's been a while, and I've been highly focused on work. I have been working on the car, and managed to get it drivable, albeit scary.
So, here are some updated pics!

Where did I leave off..
Got the car running again, this time without backfiring, hesitation or other issues.

Engine bay is getting closer to completion.

Scored some new shoes for my baby..Hot Wheels "68s" to the tune of $300

surfaced the front valence..

repaired and surfaced the front header panel.

pretty clean. Nothing a little elbow grease couldnt get rid of.

bumper flushed to body about an inch and a half.

carbon wrapped grill trim ring.

BTW, I painted the recessed area of the header panel a dry spray dark argent. It's a take on the argent silver and an interpretation of the satin black, just with metalflake.


Now for the fun!
This is the door to fender before. This door was a little chewed up, but mostly the fender was smashed in from the A-line all the way down to the bottom of the dog-leg. Big movements here on the backside of the fender. I had to cut the structure and modify it to get it to fit correctly. Fender is original to the car, door is not.

End of the season for me, had to get some paint on it to make sure no moisture got in.

It looks like you've come to the same conclusion as I did about the need for "chrome" around the header. Did you paint the header "bezels" and the hood trim in silver paint?

The header panel paint is something I developed at Chrysler a few years back.
I'll publish the recipe.
We used the recipe I developed on 2010-11 Jeep liberty fender flares and fascias, except the finish is a little glossier.

I could not do it without the strong support of the entire C-C.com community.

If I can get the front pillars leaded, I can get her into paint this year!

When you get to publishing that recipe, I'd really like to know about the paint on the header that looks like silver  Is that something you devised as well? I've been looking for a reasonably good chrome paint but with no luck.

Dan your progress is looking great!
Leadwork isn't too hard once you get the groove on the melting point.

Perhaps you can ask your marketing team to offer OEM Argent paint for the other year Mopars?
