70-71 steering wheel types
« on: July 14, 2009 - 04:53:23 PM »
I have a 70 Challenger parts car that has an odd steering wheel type that I have seen before but very rarely. It is the regular 3 spoked wheel but has a horn ring that goes like 2/3 around. Kind of hard to explain but does anyone have pics of what I am talking about or know of that particular kind of wheel? The car is at my dads and has been in a serious wreck so the wheel is pretty distorted. I am hoping someone knows of this type of wheel and possibly has a pic they can post of one. I dont remember ever seeing this type on a 71 but the possibility is there I guess. Thanks for any information you guys can provide.

I believe so , it is a Chrome 2/3 trim ring that bolts on with the 3 screws for the horn pad

Not shown is the A93 Coupe wheel, it is the same as the wood grain wheel except the outer rim is black & smooth.

Good question actually, I just noticed that the 1971 page shows the "standard" steering wheels.

So, digging a little deeper, I do not see any optional wheels shown here;
