where to get console latch?
« on: July 24, 2004 - 06:00:50 PM »
Hey all, my latch button/mechanism thing in my console is broken, and I was just thinking about getting one of these new ones without the key that I see on ebay.  (since mine isnt original anyway and i dont have a key for it).  Like this one:  http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=2485442796&category=34206  This guy claims its 100% original, which isnt true, but I dont care its what I want.  I checked at Year One, Laysons and couldnt find them.  Anybody know who makes these and where I can get one?

I bought one from this guy and he is very qucik and easy to follow instructions. Mine looks exactly like the one in the photo.
I bought my console from Tonysparts and the lock had no key. I wanted to change anyway for easy access and less hassle.
Push the button and your in no fumbling around for the key etc......

I'd buy it from this guy.  ;)

Check with an automotive specialty Locksmith , they were made by Briggs & Stratton & possibly are still available , if not  I will get you as many as needed

Red, I see someone has already bid on it so I doubt it'll stay at 10.  I won't be placing a bid if Chryco is able to get one for me.

Chryco, I really dont think any locksmiths near me are going to have this sort of thing.  (Small town).  If you could get one for me I would really appreciate it.  I'll reimburse you for price and shipping.  Could I pay you by paypal?  Dont know how long a letter takes to get to Canada...  Thanks!   ;D

Count me in too.  The one that came with my console door is frozen plus I don't have a key for it anyways...I'll let you guys go after this one if you would like and I'll stick around for the next one....Otherwise, I see someone else is selling a new unit for $9.99, but without the screws...I need both screws, so I'll just deal with this guy and let him know NZ advised me. ;) :P

are these the new briggs and stratton ones you mentioned or used?  also, do you have keys with the lockers?  (im guessing not if they're used)

all of these are used
$5 + postage should cover the non keyed ones , the keyed ones are tougher , I eitherneed to buy blanks & make keys for them or key to your key

by "key to your key" do you mean you can actually change the lock itself to fit any key?  are they supposed to match the trunk key or do they take a seperate key?
