17 x 9 inch wheel 5 inch back spacing

Will 5.5 backspacing not work or are you running drop spindles?

no drop spindles , but i  have more than an inch to go inside,with the 17,s it wont hit the upper ball joint, i dont have the room to get it out side , due to the fact it will rub the fender,the rear is fine i would like to go with 17 x 9 all the way around it will fit i just dont have much of a selection, and i dont want to run spacers unless i really have too, do you have wheel? auto xcuda

They are just cast but Newstalgiawheel has some American racing "T 70R" 17X9 W5"bs. would you still run the 255/245-45r17 rubber on them? or ya going bigger?

hey ya know i have the same wheel you do are those budniks? and tes i know i can have what ever back spacing i just need a 9 in wide rim in stead of a 9 1/2 from what i can tell on line at budnik att there rims are 9 1/2 inch unless you know different, what size are on your cuda? in tat pic , i want to go with a 275/40 17thanks

Summit sells a few of them, Cragar Soft 8's, Cragar Black D window's, Summit Legend 5's ( american racing style 5 spokes). See here

Here's a few pics. The Soft 8's can be had in black, silver or chrome, the D's also come in silver, and the 5's come in chrome as well. All 17x9, 5x4.5, with 5" BS

yea i looked at those i like the bottom one the best but it is amazing how limeted the choices are for a 17 x 9 versus a 17 x 9.5 there are only 3 or 4 wheels to chose from

I checked out the Hotchkis Challenger yesterday up close and underneath on a rack. They had an open house, more on that in another post. All kinds of new bolt on goodies that are engineered to perform as good at custom coilover pro-bling stuff.

But they offer a sperical rod end replacement for the outer tie rod. That should give you the room to run 5.5 backspacing in the front. That extra 1/2" inwards should allow you to run 17x9.5 with 275/40/17 up front.

Or is it you want to run only 5" backspacing in the rear and you want to rotate rims and tires??
