Beware Holley bowl screw gaskets
« on: July 23, 2009 - 07:20:27 PM »
tracking down fuel leaks while trying to get the Duster`s engien fired up I find stripped threads on the front fuel inlet. No biggie as I borrow a bud`s front bowl but the fuel is still leaking and it looks to be coming from the bowl screws.Well bud comes over tonight to help out with some spare gaskets and after pulling the nice new ones from the rebiuld kit off he notices two dimples on one side from the mold-these are indented dimples that allow the fuel to easliy flow by no matter how tight the screws are-WTF,can`t anything be made with quality anymore??We installed the old used ones on and hey-no more fuel leak!!Anyone else see these crappy new blue bowl screw gaskets?Oh yeah the brand new Summit fuel pump also leaked like a sive and I had to take off the bottom plate and straighten out the bends in it so it would seal-more China CRAP!!!!

Unfortunately it seems like a common occurrence, best not assume anything. Even the simple bolt on's.  :working: :working:
