    Replacing my Convertible Top

    Anyone have experience replacing comvertible tops on E-Bodies?  If so, how "involved" is it (an afternoon, a weekend, or over the winter :bigsmile:)

    I've got a brand new, still in the box convertible top from Paddock for my 1970 Cuda Clone.  I also got the padding that was recommended at the time I got the top. 

    I'm a firm believer that if you want a job done right, you should do it yourself.  That way you have no body else to blame.  I also like to take advantage of any opportunity to learn more "car stuff".

    My top has the glass back window.  Not sure if that makes things more complicated or not.  Any pointers, comments, suggestions or links to info are appreciated.

    I did 2 challengers I had a few years back.   With all the interior out of the cars it took around 6hrs for me and a friend of mine to do one car. We didn't have any rust issues to deal with and I dont recall the windows giving any trouble.  I started from the back and went forward. My convert top kits came from yr one

    My suggestion is to pay someone that knows what they are doing and ask if you can watch help learn.
    Not thinking you can’t do it yourself, I am thinking there are lots of tricks to the trade.

    I watched a show on Speed Channel where they had a professional install on a GM... he pointed out a few tricks but for the most part seemed pretty straight forward & intuitive.
       The one thing I remember was temporarily attaching the rear  prior to attaching the rear bow, somehow this make things work better.....He had a pneumatic stapler that he used the heck out of.

    The 2 shops I know both use stainless steel staples I am going to just pay the 400 they want
