The original Gone is 60 seconds has a challenger in the first scenes of the movie-great flic

A little FYI about the Challengers in the first scene.  It looks like a '72 but a while back ago I decoded the VIN #s I got off the cars used and they were 70 or 71 Challengers with a '72 grill and tailpanel.

Realted to Challenger movies (sort of)....The original Cannonball Baker Sea to Shining Sea run (Cannonball Run) was an actual race in which Road and Track Editor, Brock Yates entered a white 1972 Challenger Rallye 340 modified by Cotton Owens.  It won 2nd place to a Ferrari.

In the movie Cannonball Run with Burt Reynolds, you actually get a glimpse of the original car that Brock Yates ran in the actual race in the parking lot of the hotel where the racers arrived, but you have to have a sharp eye to see it.

Here's a pic from the movie:

Info about the actual Challenger: http://www.cottonowens.com/Cannonball_Run.html

Vanishing Point is now on BluRay saw it at Best Buy the other day in the new BluRay section.

There was a TV show 2 years ago with Nathan Fillion called "Drive" about people being forced to race across country.  The folks who ran the race kidnapped their loved ones and forced them to race.  He drove a "72 Challenger" (the show called it a 72 Chally, but the front end was a 70).  If you can find it online, it was a good show.

The season finale of Chuck had them driving around in a 71 Chally (if I remember correctly)

Interesting thing about Vanishing Point on Blueray...There are two versions of the movie on the disc. The American version, and the European version. They were pretty much the same except in the European version, Kawalski picks up a hot babe near the end of the movie.   :naughty:

I'm not sure if this would interest anyone as my son is the one who told me about it, but for any of you parents or grandparents that are familiar with the Ben 10 cartoon, there's also a live action made for tv movie coming out called Alien Swarm which features the new Challenger as the main car. They have the toy on pretty much of every toy shelf out there. You can see a quick preview here:

There is also a 1970 Challenger in the live action Ben 10: Race Against Time movie as well. I'm pretty sure it's the same black w/ blue striped one in the Geico Commercial, episode of Chuck etc. I just thought I'd share.

Oh, and a quick glimpse of it can be seen at about 42 seconds in on this trailer:

Just adding to the list of movies with Challengers and Cuda's in it.  The offspring and I picked up the new Justice League Crisis on Two Worlds cartoon disk.  On the Blu Ray there was a second animated feature titled "The Spectre" which is another DC comics character.  In the feature he tracks down a murder who tries to get away from him in an Orange Cuda with a shaker hood.  In terms of animation it looked really good.  Even got the door handles done right.

The series NCIS with Mark Harmon.  His dad gives him a nice yellow and black challenger.  It was made to look like an R/T but I think it was a 318.  Good looking car no matter.  If I hadn't already bought the paint for my car (after seeing that one) it would be yellow instead of red.
