help with location for holes mounting passenger mirror
« on: July 24, 2009 - 05:33:06 PM »
Is there a spec for mounting the passenger side mirror? I laid it out the same place as drivers but a brace is in the way. I'm using nutserts so is that OK anyhow? Meaning they won't hit the bracing if I drill them in that position?

For what it's worth, my passenger's mirror is in the same place as the driver's side on my '70. The big question is do you have 70 doors?  I wouldn't think it would matter..   :2cents:

I think there was a brace under one of my inserts IIRC.

Tom

Didn't seem to interfere.

Hummm Mike I had never thought of that? How would I tell? Would it matter as you said?    Tom, thanks for the reply ! It's just a little  scarry drilling holes! That's something ya don't want to screw up!

it is 17 1/4" back to the front hole in the mirror base from the front edge of the door
 Nutserts work well for that
the 70 door has clip on trim /felt outside the window , the 71-74 has screw on , there are other differences yaer to year as well
