** Leaf Sring Piece Needed ********
« on: July 25, 2009 - 07:18:44 PM »
Missing one of these rubber things that go under the strap that binds the leaf springs together..... anyone have a spare?

Also need a new metal strap, any idea where to get these?

Thanks
Wade

Most used ones are going to fall apart when they are taken out. New sets are here; http://chucker54.stores.yahoo.net/lespreki.html $63 for a full rebuild kit with rubbers, clamps, interliners, and sliders.

Thanks HP but right now I'm just wanting to get by... I can make something to work.
After I get the car on the road IF the OEs are satisfactory I may rebuild them, if not replacements may be the going on.

BTW I looked at these parts on my '98 Dakota, appear to be the same so there's a possibility that new could be had through a dealer but the breakdown I found did not list them separately......Hey DAVE... can you check this out?

 :iagree:

I tried to save these when I junked my old leaf springs, they fatigued and broke.  I bet it would be hard to find a good used part that would survive taking it off and putting it back on.

I don't think so...Like I said my '98 Dakota has the same part on it so I'm guessing the same piece is used on any leaf spring of the same width.

Biggs the springs are 2.5" wide...Based on what the others are saying the older piece will probably fall apart but if you can take a minute to check any late model Dakotas or Vans you might have i'd appreciate it.

thanks
