I had a 3 day weekend so I decide to block sand and prime some of the parts. I also needed to prime the rear end I stripped a couple weeks ago before it started to rust. I blocked the other fender, door, and hood and hope they only need it one more time as this is going to be a driver but I have trouble building driver type cars. It got up to 46 degrees outside but the heat was on in my garage and it was 73 degrees when I was spraying the primer.

I've worked on block sanding some of the parts for my Challenger and the fenders, front and rear valance, hood, and doors seem to be pretty straight after the 2nd block sanding. The 2k primer gets pretty hard to sand after 2 1/2 months. Here are a couple pictures of what I've been working on. I have been buying parts and have most everything for the Challenger after going to the mopar swap meet at indy and Mopars at the strip in Vegas. Parts have went up since I restored my 70 Cuda. I'm replacing all the brake lines and fuel lines with stainless steel and bought all new emblems and they have doubled in price since the last time I bought any. The only big price item I have left is the exhaust system and I'm not sure which way I want to go stock or after market like tti headers and H-pipe.

I had the weekend off and the weather was nice so I decided to work on block sanding and masked the Challenger and put some more primer on. I found a couple small dings one on a rocker and the other on one of the new AMD quarter panel. I'm planing on ordering new springs this week and get the rear end painted and put the rear end and the springs in next warm weekend. After that I'm going to pull the engine, transission and prep the engine compartment for primer and paint. I still need to get the transmission checked out and rebuilt as needed but the engine is a fresh rebuild with less than a 1,000  miles on it so I'm just going to put a new water pump and fuel pump on it and paint it and put it back in. If all goes as planned I'll have the car painted buy August and start putting it back together. I have bought almost all the parts I need but keep finding other things I need to buy.

I did a little more work on the Challenger and I painted the rear end. I'm going to order new leaf springs this week and try and get the bottom side done and put the rear end in along with the new springs. I sanded some in the trunk and hope to get it in primer this week.

I started bead blasting some of my small parts to get ready for primer. I took the door hinges apart and bead blasted them along with the hood scoop inserts and the battery tray. I was trying to get the hood hinge rivets changed out but ran into a snag with having 10 new rivets and the hinges have 14 between them. I have posted this problem in the body shop section and hope someone knows if 2 of them are no wear rivets on the hinges. I have picked up some B5 base and clear and will start spraying paint soon.

I have made a little progress and would have been more but work keeps me busy working around 11 hours a day. I do have the trunk sanded and seam sealed and will try and get it painted after I get the engine pulled as I want to strip and prime the engine compartment first. The passenger area has all been sanded and I painted it with chassis saver from top to bottom as the factory never painted the roff under the headliner. I took a picture of the engine so everyone can see a before and after and I got my new leaf springs ready to go in when I pull the rear end out.

I've been working some on the Challenger and have the engine pulled and the engine compartment paint all off and have epoxy primed and 2k primed. The K-member is painted satin black and the firewall was painted Saturday and I hope to paint the inner fenders and core support Monday or Tuesday. The engine that has less than 1,000 mile will now be rebuilt as they just put rings and bearings in the engine and I see scratches in the cylinder walls and have no idea about anything else with the rebuild. I have sent the power steering gear box off to Steer & Gear for a firm feel rebuild and hope to have it back in the next week. Here are a few pictures of the progress.
