Hey, it's looking really good.  There is always work to be done when you are dealing with reproduction body panels.  It's good that you are able to do that stuff yourself.  I don't have the patients to learn bodywork.  I had to send my car out for that stuff.

How are all your gaps looking?  Right now the bodyshop is gapping my car.  They are welding rods onto the doors and trunk lid so all the gaps come out to 3/16"

Man I wish I could do bodywork.  It would have saved me a lot of money.  Keep up the good work.

Do you have any idea what thickness and what kind of rod they are using to skinny up the gaps? I have a serious gap on both sides of my trunk lid.

I'll post a few pictures and I'll try and get some pictures of the door to quarter gap on the quarter I got installed and welded into place on Friday.

That door to quarter body line still looks a little off from here.

I see. It's gone now. I see it straight on the side view. See why I lock my thread? To keep people like me from commenting.

Car looks great.  Gaps are looking beautiful.

What are you planning on stuff in there for a eng/tran combo?

This car going to the son is the next question haha cause that will determine whats going in

It has a rebuilt 360 with around 1,000 miles on it and sounds great. I will put the 727 transmission that came extra with the Challenger after it is rebuilt and plan on a 3.23 sure grip rear end gears. I'm going to let my son drive the car but not as a daily driver as he needs to learn to respect and enjoy these cars as I do.

I got the drivers side quarter panel fitted and may try and weld it in place on monday. The only problem I have seen with the AMD quarters is the upper part to the door contour is not the same. I thought it was the door on the other side but after fitting the drivers side I see the contour is not right on either side. Here are a couple of pictures of the quarter on the challenger ready to be welded in place.

I have not worked much on the Challenger lately but have got the roof and rockers stripped to bare metal. I filled the quarter to roof seam and rocker seam with fiberglass reinforced filler and got it all sanded for primmer. I also got the windshield and dash pad out and cleaned up the urethane sealer from the windshield. I hope to have the back and roof epoxy primed and some 2K primmer on before it turns cold. Here are a couple of pictures of the progress.

I made a little progress today with getting the shell all down to bare metal and got some epoxy primer and regular 2-K primer on so it is ready for winter just in case it gets to cold for me to do much work. I'm going to get the 73 Challenger moved to the back garage in the next couple days and start working on the fenders and doors stripping them and putting epoxy and 2-K primer on them also.
