Who is running Windows 7?
« on: July 27, 2009 - 05:57:15 PM »
I just loaded the release candidate and have been running it for a week now. Much more stable than Vista and has Windows Media Center built in. My fellow IT coworkers have been running it since Beta and all are singing its praises over Vista. So far so good. Need to get all my apps installed before I jump ship.

Microsoft is allowing free downolads of this product until August. The key will expire in one year so thats plenty of time to test drive and maybe release a Service Pack 1.

You do need to have a hot mail acct or register for a Windows Live acct. \

I'm scared.  Change is never good for me.   :pullinghair:

So if I update to this new version, suddenly my scanner, printer, digital camera, won't have compatible drivers I fear.    :faint:

I've been running the 64-bit version for about 2 months now.  Very, very stable.  I usually run Linux, but I've since not had a reason to boot into Linux.  Its just been in Windows mode for awhile now.

I hear people have problems with vista, but I've been running 64-bit ultimate edition for 2 years now with not so much as a hiccup.  I wouldn't mind trying out 7 though as I've heard rave reviews.

I would love to try it out and can hardly wait for it to show up.  I would love a beta version.
Got a pretty good start on my M46 optioned Barracuda restoration but now it is on hold till I can gather more funds.  Still need a few parts for it.  SIU Graduate 75 AAS Automotive Tech, 94 BS Advanced Tech Studies, 1997 MSED Workforce Education and Development

I haven't tried 7 yet, but I have been hearing great things about it. I have Vista home premium somethin or other and it is a piece of crap. I get the blue screen of death, it takes forever to boot up (as much as 10 minutes) the computer runs slow on it. I have a copy of XP and I keep threatening to replace Vista with it, but I may just go with 7 when it hits the shelves, as it will require less effort to install 7 then reformat my computer, install XP and then reinstall all my other crap.

I've been running the Vista 64-bit version for about about 1 year I think.  I have to say that I have 4 computers running and all others have XP and they just crash all the time but my Vista 64 runs all day every day.
I am online with COD4 all the time and I am glad that it is stable......  :chatting:
The windows 7, is it a new version being released to replase XP or Vista or Both??????

7 is replacing Vista because of how unstable it is and how many problems there are with it. I am amazed that you have more problems with XP than Vista. I never had any problems with XP.

Both. It will be "the latest and greatest". We hear that every upgrade right?

I'm not going with the Beta version of Windows 7. I'm a scared chicken. Windows Vista didn't have drivers for my peripherals, so I seriously doubt Windows 7 will. I had to use my installation discs, and I really can't think these companies have drivers for Windows 7 at this time.

I put it on my laptop the other day, and love it so far.  Putting it on the wifes right now.  Shes been having issues and I was gonna reformat anyway, so decided to use it there too.  She uses it for work so we'll see how it goes.

I just went to XP about a month ago.  I used ME for years. No problem with XP but my virus software locked up and had to be re-installed and I lost the drivers to my vid capture card.  :pullinghair: It's always something with Windows. Win 95 was the best one ever.
