new today
« on: July 28, 2009 - 11:57:31 AM »
New to the site.  Recently purchased the car in my avatar, 73 cuda 340, all matching numbers.  Bought it in Vancouver and drove it home.   What a great drive, brought back some old memories.  This car is totally original, not restored, except for new paint in 1990.

Thanks for looking. I was wondering if any one could tell me what the tag is connected to the fender tag and if it has any significance.

Welcome to C.C and you bought the perfect car. Mine had a small piece of metal under the tag but not sticking out like that. Maybe they were suppposed to break that off after the car was built?

Great looking car.  Don't see a lot in that color.  I like it.

Hey..That's my color!!   Welcome, Great looking Plymouth... The only place I have ever seen a tag made like that is in the back seat springs... Don't know what it says but can check if you like.

Welcome, that looks like a sweet ride!  It looks almost identical to how my 73 must have looked like new except mine did not have a vinyl roof. :canada:

Yes the color is different. It originally had a white roof and stripe but was changed when painted.  Supposedly this color was only offered for 1/2 the year in '73.  Any help with that one?  Car had 37k miles on it and drove 15 hrs home with not a hitch.  It had been sitting for quite some time and had a little oil blow bye, but that quit once it was ran for awhile.  Naturally had to get an inspection to licence it and only had to change 1 u joint and both rear master brake cylinders.  :cooldancing:

it is a factory assembly line code tag only, normally located under the actual fender tag

Yes there is numbers and letters on it. Can't really remember what exactly, I'll look later after work.
