'72 Ralley cluster dash?
« on: July 29, 2009 - 05:15:11 AM »
I'm trying to decide whether to include this with the sale of my 'Cuda or sell seperate?

This is a complete dash out of a Challenger. Everything, 3 speaker dash pad, A/C car with controls and plastic trim, glove box... etc.

It was pulled as a complete unit including the wire harness and firewall connector, even has the high/low switch for the headlights.

It's unrestored and one of the speaker grills is broken, but I have another set of grills. Pad skin is decent, but the pad is hard in places.
Unknown working condition on all guages.

How much should I add to the overall price of the car if I sell it as a package?
What's a good reserve if I were to put it on eBay?
Wouldn't be selling if I had a choice, but I'm out of options.

Thanks for any input.

You'll have a much better chance of selling the car if you include the dash.  If you state that the dash and gauges have been removed, then you will lose a good chunk of potential buyers, because they will then have to go out and spend more to complete it.

The Ralley dash was never installed into my 'Cuda.
After I bought the 'Cuda I started collecting parts for when I was ready to start on fixing the 'Cuda up the way I wanted.
I think I ended up with 3 sets of Ralley dual mirrors as well as some other parts. I've been overseas and just got back and haven't had a chance to dig through everything to see what all I have. I suffer from C.R.S..
Thanks

My bad.  I see now that you said it is out of a Challenger.  In that case, you could sell it with the Cuda at say a $300-$500 addition depending on the condition, or sell them separate for maybe a little more.

Seems low for a complete dash with harnesses etc.?

It will be worth more if you sell it separately, but you don't typically get full value if you sell it as an extra piece to the car.  That's just my thoughts, but yu can certainly ask whatever you feel is proper.  Maybe start it up around $1000 extra and see what happens.

I bought mine three months ago, 1970 - 71 and it is complete and everything works for $650.  So, yes prices are soft right know.

Hey 'vertman, did it come with wire harness or just cluster and bezel(s).
I think that's where I'm losing everybody, I have the entire dash assembly, cluster, bezels, a/c controls, a/c vents, a/c duct,  glove box, hi/lo switch, complete wire harness to the firewall, 3 speaker dash with grills. (dashpad is probably just a core to be honest. Pad is pretty hard.)

It was pulled as a complete assembly and never taken apart.
If it's cool enough later I'll dig it out of storage and get some pictures.

I just dug the 'Cuda out and have it trailered for a pre-sale inspection. Looks like the guy might end up buying it minus the extra parts.  :sadwavey:

Wish he'd hurry up befor I change my mind.  :walkaway:
I remember seeing a bench test procedure to test the gauges for function, but I can't seem to find it. If anybody has it please post it?
Thanks
Jeff

It only came as pictured, no harness.

A complete dash like that maybe better parted out, you would probably get more $$$ for it.

you paid 650 for that? it ain't prices that are soft! theres a set like that last night on ebay for 185$ did you get the 4 light bar?  dam where you people get the $? I bought a dash with 3 speaker and rally harness and no a/c parts left of the column for 100$. no radio and no trim. got the center vents and pass vent glove box door stuck open. sounds like a good deal but the parts are fading fast!
