We will have a automatic draft, Yahoo Sports will choose from their default ranked players, you can also rank your own players, and when your time comes to draft, your next in line player will be chosen to your team. You will have a Quarterback say from Dallas, a running back from Detroit, a wide receiver from Greenbay, etc......You can also purchase a Fantasy Football Guide at your local Walmart for about 7 bucks. Each week you will need to fill each position on your team, my proposal was 1 Quarterback, 2 Running Back, 2 Wide Receiver, 1 Tight End, I kicker, and 1 Defensive Team (Dallas, Detroit, Green bay, etc...) and 1 RB/WR/TE, you also will have 6 bench seats to fill, these are players you will move in and out of the line-up each week, and we cant forget about bye weeks. During the game you will accumulate points, 6 points for a touch down, 1 point for a kicked extra point, fractional points for yardage gained, points for a sack, and you can also get minus points for say loss yardage. Sometimes a player gets hurt, you will be allowed to pick a player off waiver, or free agent, to add into your line-up, until the player is back, you are allowed 2 players on IR (Injured Reserve). Each week you will play against another team, team with the most points at the end of the game wins that game, and your team will be set in the standings in that order of wins vs losses. Most important is each week you need to make sure your lineup is set, and as commissioner, if I see anything not right, I will notify you. Let me know if this makes sense, and if more info is needed, and if anyone else would like to comment, please do so on the boards.

Thanks, Bob

If we do a live draft, everyone has to be available, if we do the auto draft, Yahoo sports will pick from the default ranking, OR, you can rank your players in advance, and yahoo would chose this way. I think it be easier for the new players who are doing this for the first time.

I've done this on Yahoo for several years and Auto-pick is by far the easiest way to go.  Live pick is appropriate for a group of experienced players and, as Bob said, requires everyone to be available to draft at the same time.  With a group of people who all know each other, like coworkers or something, that would be easy, but not with people from all over the country.

This is by far the easiest: Autopick Draft

MORE INFO FROM YAHOO:

  Live Online Draft
You will participate in a live online draft that may last several hours and requires a Flash-enabled browser. Test your system to see if it is draft compatible.

  Autopick Draft
We will draft teams for your league based on either our default rankings or individual manager's pre-draft player rankings. Once you set your league's draft status to Ready, your draft will happen within 72 hours.

  Offline Draft
Your league conducts its own player draft offline and submits the results via our draft results entry page, which can be reached from the Commissioner's Tools on your league overview page.

Once who is decided who goes first in the draft, selected by Yahoo Sports, it will go in a wrap around format

Round 1 team:12345678
Round 2 team: 87654321
Round 3 team: 12345678
Round 4 team: 87654321
etc, etc, etc until your roster and bench seats are filled

I am getting the emails now of the 8 potential team owners, as soon as I have them all I will send out the Mass Yahoo invite, and then we go from there, probably early next week.
