    The plug wires currently on my 318 are the mopar perfromance wires with the molded ends....they came with the motor when I got the car.....they are VERY low resistance comapred to the yellow accels I bought so I assume the yare not "radio supression" ?...the accels basically melted.....3 or 4 of them came apart at the plug end...removed one boot and had a long string of molten rubber..... :eek2:...the metal clip inside came apart from the cable......Accel sent me some new clips, but its the boot end and honestly I bought the accel pre-measured kit so  I wouldnt have to question my cutting and putting on the ends.

    So, I put the old mopars back on....car is running on them but the wires are mis-sized...

    Would like to get a new set of wires that are pre-cut and of good quality so I figured another (proper) set of mopars....anyone have a line on where to get them at a good price?

    Or, if not mopars, what do you suggest? 

    I really like the ends used on the mopars.....shown in this picture.....



    And of course I also want to lace them up neatly....what do you guys run as far as looms?

    I sent the Mopar small block set back...did NOT fit at all some way longer than necessary some too short to fit well.    Got a set of pre- made to fit MSD (love em)... Most are too long.. MSD send me new ends & a generous length of wire to fix... I'd say get a set to custom make your own after you determine what looms you will be using.

    What's the liquid on the manifold.??!??

    I figured the pre-made ones would be more reliable....ie not depending on my putting the ends on...but true, I can see how you can make them a more exact fit if you cut your own.

    The picture is an old one before I put my Dougs on......the liquid is PB Blaster.

    last week I put a set of FireCore 8mm wires on my 340 and they fit perfect. http://www.firecore50.com/ I used these to replace the older black Mopar wires and the now the engine runs much better. I can't believe I waited so many years to try a good set of wires on the 340.  :banghead: I belive Nick's carrys these wires if you want to give them a try.  Mike

    How much did they run you?

    (As an aside: No offense to anyone, just some potential-customer feedback: it really annoys me when I go to look a website and they are selling a product and I have to email for a price....just publish the price on the website...it saves me time in my shopping.)

    I saw a "blow-out special" They were running on moparts for the Carisle show. They were phasing out the 8mm wires and replacing them with 8.5mm wire sets. Since I could not make it to the show, they cost me $75 with shipping. I am not sure what the price is for the new 8.5mm wire sets....

    I saw these wires at the Carlisle show....I seem to remeber they were over $100 ...????? :clueless:

    Are they that good?

    They kind of look plain and not much different than the cheapo sets you can buy.....generic looking boots and such....

    I liked the mopar boots as they seem well bonded and are xtra grippy to get a good grab on them when yanking..... :dunno:

    Ok so I visited their site.

    The yahve a "pro fit" and a "factory fit".

    Whats the difference?

    I have mopar performance valve covers and no stock looms....so I guess all i want is a set that will fit nice and neat.....

    The difference is
    Pro Fit = Headers
    Factory Fit= Manifolds

    Nick, what is your price for a SB/pro set? (I have dougs headers on my 318)

    Guys, do they fit "really" well as they claim? Neatness counts too, even in "pro" form?....  LOL

    Firecores are the best from what I hear. I know most of the FAST guys run them... They look plain becuase they were designed to look plain. But fit, and have the lowest resistance. In case you haven't noticed... Accell parts suck. The MP wires are made by Taylor. I used to run taylors exclusively but the last couple sets had issues with the boots getting hot and splitting/burning. So I've been using MSDs but Firecores will be tried eventually. Pay real money for a real set of wires and they will last three times as long as the cheaper ones provided you keep them away from damaging stuff.

    Taylor sucks, I will not run anything but MSD now. they're about $70 for the small block.  :2cents:

    For small block motors, all I have in stock is:
    A. Chrysler 318/340/360 Pro Fit  FireCore50 8.5mm set OEM Cap and not HEI cap, I have 6 sets left at $105 + shipping,
    B. Chrysler 318/340/360 Factory Fit FireCore50 8mm Set, OEM Cap and not HEI cap I have only 1 set left at $65 + shipping.

    The company tells me that there will be NO more 8mm wires made, unless I was miss-informed, and that has happened to me before.....
