Yeah I talked to this guy before I bought mine.  Took forever to get ahold of him, then we he finally called me back, he talked about them like he had some rare 1 off cars or something. He said the cars are not at his place and he was going to set up a date a month away for everyone interested in the cars to come look at them at one time and the first one with 6500 cash gets them.  He wasn't going to have a bidding war.  Needless to say I din't ask when or waste my time calling back.  :dupe:

If that's a 71, why does it have 72-74 stripes on it?

For real.  Was the first thing I thought.  I understand that people change stripes but changing from a '71 to '72-4?  I don't know...

this "may"be a better picture of the 71,it was taken at a swap meet last weekend in springfield mo(which is very close to where the car was advertised for sale at),it was sent to me by a friend of a friend.
still too much $$ for me to mess with

I think he is high on the price.  With all of the work to put it back would be hard to put that much in it.    :2cents:
Got a pretty good start on my M46 optioned Barracuda restoration but now it is on hold till I can gather more funds.  Still need a few parts for it.  SIU Graduate 75 AAS Automotive Tech, 94 BS Advanced Tech Studies, 1997 MSED Workforce Education and Development

Lessee, if the codes are listed correctly, the 1971 barracuda has a spd of 521 yet wears what appear to be the remains of stripes available on 1972 Plymouth e-bodies. If someone has a factory bulletin indicating exactly what date they (the stripes) became available, it could indeed prove to be a "rare one off".

For Sale 1971 plymouth barracuda, no motor or transmission. Car was originally a 318 slap stick automatic, needs restoration.

Build Codes - U5Y,GY8,U,C16,C55,M21,R11,H6XW,000,521,066649,E44,031,BH23,G13,402395.

$6500 CASH ONLY,NO CHECKS,NO TRADES.

A gold (GY8) with white interior (H6XW) 1971 barracuda ordered at the right time in the model year to receive white 1972 style stripes :sly: :thinkerg: :dunno: :misbehaving:

No wonder Barry loves this hobby :jumping: :2thumbs:

I wouldn't mind being able to save that A66 Challenger either, nicely optioned as it is, but i agree that $6500 each as they sit is excessive :2cents:
