    Is this a RARE REAR???

    I was told that this may be a rare rear, there are 9 bolts holding the back plate on. Is this a 8 1/4 or 7 1/4 rear.

    That looks like a 7-1/4" unit.  Standard on slant-6 and on some 318 cars.  The 8-1/4" rear ends had 10 bolts.

    Here's a chart to help ID them. Looks like you've got a 7 1/4.
