Man, I sure felt like I was
!!!!!
I did the socket routine.
The vice I have in the garage was a super heavy duty machine vice- with more than ample clamping distance and force.
Let's just say those u v joints did not want to play nice.
I superceeded the maximum clamping force of the workbench, and BROKE the corner of the bench off with the vice and driveshaft!!!!!
I caunbolted the mess of tangled crap and took the 65 lb vice to the basement, where my bench is attatched the the girder stancions!
Needless to say, those things were out in 15 minutes.
the easiest part was putting the new u- joint in.
The most dissapointing part?
The driveshaft is 4" or more TOO LONG!
is that a condition of the following?
1.) The driveshaft could have been a 904 trans driveshaft
2.) I have the wrong tailshaft
so, my question is does the driveshaft need to be shortened?
Advice appreciated,
dan
