Man I love how the guys on this site come together for a cause. I would love to see yet another triple c miracle. Sounds to me that although it was hard, Greg has cut the cord with the car. No problem with that and when the ride does come back around maybe he will wind up better off than now.

Little update...I've had a couple guys look at it, a few @$$holes try to pressure me into a lowball price over the phone without looking at it (one this weekend actually said "It's a piece of $hit!" when I wouldn't just take his $6750 over the phone) and another offer to trade for something valuable I don't want or need (a $25,000 jet boat.) 

Today, I got two interesting calls.  One is interested in arranging a trade plus $4000 cash.  The trade would be for one of three cars: a 440/727 Jensen Interceptor in primer, needs interior work; a 1984 Corvette or a Triumph TR6.  All interesting, though I'm most intrigued by the Jensen because it will seat four, plus it's got MoPower.  However, the other call was even more interesting - a straight across trade for a restored 1970 340 Duster with fresh Plum Crazy paint.  I could use the cash, but the Duster may be too good an opportunity to pass up.

As for the Duster, just make sure it gets a good, thorough check by you and an unbiased helper.  I know your frustration with not getting to enjoy your car and I'd hate to see you get something that ends up needing more than maintenance (for the time being).

Good advice.  I agree about the Jensen, the difference being a running car plus cash versus a shell.  The Duster is supposed to be completely restored, including the engine and it sounds as though the guy has done a number of these restorations.  Either way, rest assured I'll give any potential trade a thorough going over.  I don't mind a car that needs some work, so long as it runs decent and doesn't need a complete rebuild.  As I said in the "Homer Simpson" thread - my biggest mistake with my Challenger was in completely disassembling it instead of doing things a little at a time.  Live and learn.

EDIT: Just got off the phone with the guy with the Duster and the trade offer has been pulled back.     He's more interested in a cash deal.  However, he's much closer to Golden Gladiator and is actually interested in a pink car, so I told him about GG's being for sale.

I`d pass on the duster too... nice of him to throw in some cash, but you will need it to finish the car.  Are parts for jensens available in the us?    A Triumph is real fun to drive, but if you are a musclecar guy, you don`t want a slow bathtub that breaks down all the time...  I`d love to see the duster, but I wonder what the owner calls restoration...     straight across trade... I know I wouldn`t if it was my duster.  Maybe he wants a Challenger real bad      can`t blame him....

No updates.  I stopped advertising it because I was applying for a job that would have meant a substantial pay raise, enough to allow me to pay someone to do the body work.  But, I didn't get the job, so I've been letting the car sit until after the holidays.  I'll decide what I want to do with it then.
