not sure what I would do.  I would say, keep as much original metal as possible but if you want the floor as straight as possible, you`re better of replacing it. Overall it looks to be in great shape   :2thumbs:
I`d swear I saw that beam before...  :clueless:

I would change the entire floor and rustproof inside the torsion bar crossmember and fron frame rails, when it is off.

You already have it anyway.

:iagree: Replace the whole floor pan, being a vert you will want the floors and structure as solid as possible!

Makes very much sense what you say guys, new panels it will be.
Now something else, on the E-body the fenders rest on the innerfenders in opposit
to the B-body where you can adjust the fenders up and down since they run paralell
to the innerfenders. Does that make my welding of the innerfenders and radiatorsupport very sensitive? How do I make sure I will not get into problems later on when welding the innerfenders?

With the front fenders there are only 2 adjustments. Front to Rear and Out or IN. No up and down. You might want to bolt your front fenders to the inner fenders and the radiator support to see if anything moved while being transported. You can check all of your gaps then weld the inners in.

This way, no surprises later.

Coming along nicely!

How cool will that be? Cruising around Fort Europa with a '70 Challenger convertible with a Hemi under the hood. ****in' ace!

You can use a washers between the fender and inner fender to move the fenders up a bit. I think that I used two washers under one bolt to correct the fender contour to better match the hood contour.  You cannot add many washers before it starts to show when looking the engine bay but atleast one or two is quite hard to notice.

Since I never did any bodywork before I listen and get told that I have to start with the "structurework" ??? What does that really mean? Should I weld in more bars before I put on the rotesserie, mount the K-frame? Weld in the subframe connectors while it's still on the ground or? I seems to be a little bit paralyzed, don't know where to begin. :clueless:

Hi, the status of your car looks very close to mine !!.
I've a question to anybody is looking this thread:   are the two rear seat hooks (very close each other) correct ?    I found just one for side both on my Barracuda as well as on my Challenger.      :clueless: :clueless: :clueless:

what i believe they are referring to is cross brace the cab area in side the car. Also you will have to put on the aprons and rad support before hanging the car on the jig, K frame should go in for support. other wise the front rails will bend as will other parts of the car. rotissoraries are nice but you have to remember the car is stressed on on them. Cars are not made to be hung solely by the ends of the frame rails, so cross supporting is essential especially for the converts.  :2cents: hope that helps

Seat hooks are correct for a convertible.  2 on each side.

I actually start to think I'm in over my head here. First of all I did the stupid mistake
of buying sheetmetal before I cleaned up the complete car, now I see I need more
and differents parts. :swear: :banghead: Then, what kind of bodymen rapes a 1970 Challenger vert like this? Just look at my quarterpanel, it's something one might do on a Volvo that should be crushed in a couple of years anyway. I really don't see how I should be able to solve this. :eek4:

you definitelly will have to go with a new skin.   The pro is that you can check the status of outer whell house and trunk extension too.  I bet you will find other surprise there...

Sorry to see the horror someone did to it years ago. Many are victims as I am too of brazing done on their cars.

Can you add some of these photos to the Hack job thread in the classics?
