If your swapping in the console linkage, its best that when you get the linkage out of an ebody, or late bbody (they are the same and certainly cheaper from a yard) cut out the whole floor so you have a reference. I didn't and it was a pain to get everything lined up right.
My linkage is still bolted in place, and my painter forgot to weld them down withn he painted, duhhh. So I'll have to finish that myself, but it works fine that way.
Sorry I don't have pics for you, but its the same as the ones you saw. I'll see if I can get some measurements and pics later for you. I just started from the reference point of the shaft hole, that you'll need to cut, and bolted in the vertical shaft, and then just worked back to the shifter from there.
As far as the kickdown linkage, any small block linkage will work as long as its for a 4 brl carb (that is, if thats what your using) and just hook it up. If you can find a 4 brl diplomat in yard, they have a great kickdown link setup. Just be sure to get the throttle linkage off the intake as well, if your switching from a two barrel. There are a lot of good parts on those cars. especially on the cop cars. Lots of heavy duty parts on those cars. Transmission, brakes, radiators, firm feel pwr steering gear boxes and pwr strng coolers.... good stuff. I think the pitman arms would work well on ebodies too, and they are fast ratio. Those cop cars are a good place to start when upgrading a Challenger....or anything smallblock for that matter.
