I used this one

http://www.tptools.com/Product.aspx?display_id=2600

They have a black one and a tintable one that you can tint to the color of your ride.
I used the black one and really liked the way it came out
and a plus is that everything is in the kit including the undercoating gun

I'm really starting to like seeing this stuff on people's rides. I'm starting to consider it for my future use. TX, TP Tools is just down the street from me so I'll have to watch their sales and other events where they have some good buys at times.

I've used it and so have several people I know.  Works a heckuva lot better than spray can undercoating.  The best thing is you can just hose off the bottom of the car to clean it and gives it a nearly show car look underneath.

I wouldn't expect it to be as durable as 2-part catalized real bedliner material, but it would be more of a high quality undercoating  :2cents:

I have used the raptor liner from tp tools also. You can buy it for $99. a kit. Comes with 4 quart bottles and a 5th quart hardener, and a gun. I used a complete kit on the underside of my car. I bought an extra kit so i could do the trunk area and inside the front fenders when i get them ready. I really like it and would definently reccomend it if undercoating the entire underside is your thing. You can see my end result on my car, thread is in restorations under Long Term Project. Good luck, hope you like it.

I'd like to add a question instead of starting a new thread.  :misbehaving: Do you have to shoot the whole batch or can you spray a little and clean the gun? I wasn't sure how thick it comes out and if its a throw away one use gun....

I cleaned mine up using a cheap solvent. I sprayed one entire kit (4 bottles) and then a week later i came back and hit some areas that i was a little thin. Thats the beauty of the Raptor kit, you only have to use one bottle at a time. Gun was real easy to clean also. I am going to experiment with laying a little paint over the top of a small area, just to see how it looks.

72cudamaan you can add your own color to the clear kit and it becomes part of the undercoat and not just a overcoat on top of it. Thay claim you must tint with a urethane paint/tint though

wally426ci the instructions say to use the entire bottle that you have mixed up, it starts to set retelatively fast once the 2 parts are mixed. Bottles are filled 3/4 full and there is a line marked on the bottle for how much hardner to add. I would imagine you could only mix up the amount you needed and not catalize the rest of the bottle.
I used 3 of the four bottles on the bottom and saved one for inside fenders when I'm ready to shoot them. To clean the gun I just shot some laquor thinner through it and wiped off the outside with a laquor rag

I have a '98 ram 2500 that I am going to put this in the bed. I really liked the ease of use and the way it came out.

Thanks! I was actually thinking of using up a bottle at once. I just wanted to see if it was easy to clean, I have some lining I plan to do in the next month or whenever I get around to it.

Once you mix up a bottle with the hardener, you have to use it. So make sure you have enough area to use it up in. I had a little extra so i sprayed the bottom of my pickup tool box, so i didn't waste it.

Anyone ever use the plasti-kote brand trunk bed liner, sold at the local auto parts store? I found some for 59.00 gal. I want to spray the under carriage of my car :feedback:

The rattlecan plasti-kote is not as durable as paint-on rhino-liner or, as others have mentioned, the 'real' stuff.  It is somewhat more durable than regular spray paint though.  I used the plastikote on a set of home-made roof rack crossbars for my Jeep, and the stuff was scratching through and flaking off pretty quickly.  Paint-on rhino-liner has held up a lot better, though it still scratches.  No flakes and chips coming off.

But if you can I'd use the better stuff mentioned.  It will be a lot more durable, and if given a bit of thickness can act like a sound dampening material too.
