AAR/T/A tire sizes

What were the original tire sizes for the '70 T/A AAR cars? What is the equivelent sizes in metric radial tires?

E 60 15 front & G 60 15 rear
maybe 225 70 & 255 70

The AAR T/A cars had 70 series tires? I thought they were 60 series from the factory.

Which translates to P225/60R15 and P245/60R15.

If I recall correctly, a 195 is equal to an E, and a 215 is equal to a G.  I am pretty sure 225's were H's.

E is 225, F is 235 and G is 245. If you want a modern tire the same size as the original E60 15 and G60 15 you want a 225 60R 15 and 245 60R 15.

better rear tires

it has 255/60R15 on the rear with funky ribbing

looks like a paddock basher (farm beater car)
