After replying to a thread over on dodgecharger dot com...

http://www.dodgecharger.com/forum/index.php/topic,60478.0.html

...i got to wondering how - or if - Buzz-A-Rama, my old slot car racing hangout was doing :clueless: so i googled the place and noted the following two linkys:

http://www.nytimes.com/2009/01/19/nyregion/19bigcity.html

http://briccommunitymedia.wordpress.com/2009/05/22/sector-b-buzz-o-rama-in-kensington/

Check out the video on the second link, what a flashback! Same Mr. Perri from way back when except his hair was black instead of white    Sometimes you really can go back again  :woohoo:

My best friend and i used to race there on weekends forty plus years ago; we'd bike the four or five miles from our block, grab a slice of pizza and a root beer at the corner pizzeria, hang out on the corner while we ate, then walk next door for some racing. Hey, life was a lot simpler then :grinyes:

Btw, earlier today i phoned the number listed and Mr. Perri's wife answered; we spoke for a few minutes and when i asked if Mr Perri was there, she says "Yes, but he's 'driving' right now". We both had a good laugh on that  I asked if the big (and only) H/O track was still there and she told me it had gone through some changes over the years, but yes it was :jumping: :jumping: :jumping:

Lessee, he's early seventies, retired, races at, and owns Buzz-A-Rama. Life must be pretty good :cooldancing:

I may be going back to Brooklyn for a short visit in October - can't wait to tell him how i made the jump from slot cars to high performance Mopars :)

I liked slot cars when I was a lot younger and would not mind to do it again some time.
Got a pretty good start on my M46 optioned Barracuda restoration but now it is on hold till I can gather more funds.  Still need a few parts for it.  SIU Graduate 75 AAS Automotive Tech, 94 BS Advanced Tech Studies, 1997 MSED Workforce Education and Development

This was a good read, nice Guy, and doing it still for the kids. I too still have some older slot cars, I still have my T-Jet Batmobile, 2 of the 3 pipes broken, but hey, I have it, some others too.
