BS 383 Cuda FE5 Ralley Red *Just Scored It*
« on: August 15, 2009 - 10:27:08 PM »
I just brought this car home.

It is a real "BS" code 383 cuda with black interior.  The car is rough around the edges and will need lots of work, but it is all there.  It has been owned by the same guy since 1975... until now.

It currently has a running 440 with a 727 torque flight and suregrip 8 3/4" rear.

The cuda had a rear valance added later on in its life that is not correct.  It was born with a dual exhaust rear valance.

It was posted on Craig's list as a 70 barracuda.  I showed up to look at it and I about fell over when I saw that it was a real Big Block Cuda.  This only happens once in a person's life if he or she is lucky.

It has a fender tag, but it is a little rusty, but I think I will be able to make out about 99% of it.  The car is down at the shop and I will check it out a little closer on Saturday.  The car still has all of the original interior in it, so I am going to look for the build sheet as well.  Man I hope it's there.

Thanks for the great comments from everyone.

Hemiken,

I found the build sheet behind the driver side seat back.  I have already laminated it.

The fender tag reads as follows:

M88 N41 N42 R11 Y05 EN1
V1X C16 C55 J45 M21 M25
FE5 H6X9 000 927 0899999
E63 D32 BS23NOB137XXX

Can anyone decode these numbers?
