Drip rails
« on: August 17, 2009 - 03:59:26 PM »
Does anybody have the order in which all the stuff goes on around the door windows? Drip rails(which ones are those anyways), gaskets, rubber, etc. I have the long piece that goes all the way around the window and then the two chrome pieces that go together and the rubber, as well as the stuff that came from DMT when I ordered my kit. Please help!! :1zhelp: :1zhelp: :1zhelp:
Pictures would be a great help as well  :2thumbs:

i test fit all the pieces before actual assembly to familiarise myself with procedure, and placement.

i put mine back together the way it came apart, and i cannot guarantee it is factory.
the drip rail is the 2 pc. with the lip.
it goes up first. youll see the holes, as you line it up.
mine had some foam on it, like adhesive backed weatherstripping, about 1/4 inch thick. i went to ace, and bought a roll.
put that on, and screw the drip rail up there.
then i took the other roof rail pcs. and applied another layer of the weatherstripping.
i used 2 differant sizes for the drip rail, and roof rail .
youll see cut outs in the drip rail flat part for the roof rail to screw into the holes in the car.
secure that, use some 3m weatherstrip adhesive(pre fit the seal though... mine was short in the back.) screw the front of the actual seal in, and glue that sucker in there.

after that i rolled up the windows to hold it in place.

once you place everything, youll see its pretty easy.

hope that helps.   :2thumbs:
