Rotor Won't move now...was before.

I took everything apart on the one rotor that has been giving me a problem. Checked the piston again and re pushed it in again just in case it wasn't all the way down.
When the rotor was on, I spun it and thought I heard a grinding sound. So I took it off. Looked at the backing plate. And it appeared it might've been in contact right on the lip edges. So I tweaked the edges out a little to see if that might make a difference. I then made sure the backing plate was perfectly centered before re tightening it back on. Put the rotor back on, re tightened the outer bearing nut slightly till it felt snug. Spun it, sound was gone. Put caliper on, ran pin hardware on and then tightened caliper brackets up. When I did that, I heard a ting sound. One of the caliper pins doesn't seem to be going thru the rubber bushing centered. Tried adjusting but couldn't get it to go on without pushing the rubber bushing outwards.

The caliper brackets have written on them A1 on one of them and A-2 on the other. Left and right I suppose. But which one for what side?

My right adaper has  has an R & a 1 ...left has a L & a 2

You bought 73-up rotors... I see early model dust shields...could this be an issue?...Are your spindles 73-up? 



Looking at this picture it appears to be correct as the curve is made to miss the ball joint

Yes I changed the spindles. They're off of a 75 Cordoba.
 Later on, I was thinking of using the earlier spindle to see if that would change anything. But I can't since I bought rotors using the bigger bearings.

An idea is I would cut back just a little of the ridge. Maybe lower it a little.

Just take it off as a test...may not be a problem
