Are Fender tags Suppose to be Painted?

One of my friends got re-manufactured fender tags for his 70 Challenger but I don't remember are they suppose to be painted body color?

I know the answer to your question but I'm new to this site.  I'm not sure how people on here react to fender tag questions like that.  If this site is like any of the other sites I'm on...I'd beter not say anything.

They were painted on the cars.

OK...good to know.

The tags were painted on the car but were bent up in order to get some paint underneith the tag.  Also, only one of the screws should have paint on it.  That screw was installed after the body was painted.
