Thanks guys!  After being cooped up in the hospital amost daily for six weeks I needed to get out and do something.  The plan was to take the Challenger to the 4th Street Cruise on the 25th but it rained all morning.  The last time the car was at the cruise was back in the mid 90's.  I remember riding along with my dad and hearing some kid yell, "Hey dad look, it's a RUSTY Challenger."

My uncle just bought a 74 Dart Sport in March.  It looks alot like the one he bought new.  I wanted to get a closer look at it so I took a drive to my hometown.  The rain stopped in the afternoon which gave us a chance to take the Dart for a drive.

The one he bought in 74

The one he just bought.

As we were driving around, my uncle pointed out the house where my parents lived right after getting married in 1975.  That was the same house where this picture was taken.

The garage is still there and I mensioned that I wanted to recreate the picture sometime.  My uncle looked at me and said, "I'm not taking my shirt off!"  :roflsmiley:

Even though the Challenger stayed in the garage I had a good day riding around in another old Dodge.  Hopefully there will be a few nice days left before I have to head back to the hospital.  When I have more pictures to share I'll post them.

It's been great following this thread the last few years and a real thrill to hear you are driving it now and getting the final bugs worked out.  The pièce de résistance would be to see some video of it cruising down the road!

Just putting it out there, the colours on your car are themed extremely well! Number 2 would be my favourite of the photos!

I had another good Saturday with the car.  I went to a nice show with it this morning.  Then on the way home I stopped at a "show off and cruise".  I'm headed back to the hospital next Saturday so it was nice to be able to put some miles on the car.

Last weekend I heard something fall off the car while going down the road.  I think I figured out what it was today.  I tried rolling up the side window and it wouldn't go up all the way.  One of the side glass fasteners must have worked loose and fallen down into the door.  It should be an easy fix when I find the time to pull the door panel off.

Also, I was able to check the odometer against the mile markers on the interstate.  The odometer is dead nuts on.  That means I have the right speedo gear in the trans.  The gauge restorer must not have gotten the speedo calibrated correctly.  That makes me mad.  It's not going to be fun pulling them out again.

Who did your calibrations? I ask as I have the exact same issue. :pullinghair:
