    Has anybody ever seen a '72-'74 Chally with a shaker hood?  I am SERIOUSLY considering putting one on my '72, and am wondering how it might look with the 2nd gen. grill. 

    Any pics perhaps, or just general insights/opinions?

    other than the latch mechanism the 70/71 hood is a bolt on

    It will look great, but prepare yourself for a barrage of 'that hood's not right for the car' statements. :)

    Saw it at the Jacksonville, NJ Six Flages outlet show. It was a white 72 with a orange sidestripe and an orange shaker hood. It actually looked quite nice, although, in my opinion, the scale was a little off, with the shaker seeming a little too large.

    Now, to be fair, it doesn't have any R/T badging anywhere on the car...that's just a moniker it was given when it was being built, and it kinda stuck in personal circles. 

    Orange stripes and shaker on a white car...that sounds kinda gross. :-\

    I'm leaning more towards Viper red with black shaker bubble (fibreglass thru Year One)  but will still keep it R/T badge-free. 

    Although ONE day it'll be a 426 or 528 under that hood.  No, really!!

    FOUR THOUSAND!?!?!?  DOLLARS!?!?!?

    Year One has the Bubble for $556.00 including fibreglass bubble and scoop grills.  Trim ring is another $309...then it's finding a hood!  Probably easier to get a flat hood and mofify it.

    My goodness...I probably should have done some pricing before even considering such an endeavor!!

    I think there's a few more pieces than that.  ::)  I'm planning on buying a setup for the convert but the good part is. . . . I already have a hood!  Probably cost $2000-2500.  Hope to secure it at the NATS!

    You need WAY more than just the bubble and the trim ring, unless you plan on making everything at home!

    The metal piece that welds to your hood goes for $750 itself... the trim ring is worthless without this part...

    Then you need the air cleaner and adaptor to even mount the "bubble".

    A Shaker hood ain't cheap!   ;D
