I have a dissision to make
« on: August 20, 2009 - 04:43:52 PM »
I got an e-mail from another company wanting me to apply for a instructor position in Afganistan with a new truck that is coming out.  Not sure I want to do that again.  The pay would be nice and could get more done to my car and things.  Just not sure I want to leave my new wife for a year and my car still not even started on.  Got my shed moved today and it looks good where it is at.
Got a pretty good start on my M46 optioned Barracuda restoration but now it is on hold till I can gather more funds.  Still need a few parts for it.  SIU Graduate 75 AAS Automotive Tech, 94 BS Advanced Tech Studies, 1997 MSED Workforce Education and Development

Stay home.  Sacrificing your marriage and home life for car money is a huge no-no.

We are talking about it and I really do not see me going over there for another year.  The money on this job is not as good as it was on the last.  But still nothing to sneeze about.  The car will just have to go slower is all.  I am in a hurry to start on it.  I have most of the parts I want for it but not all.

The paycheck would have to be $500K or better for me to go to a war zone.  :2cents:

The end of thee month , I go back out to work. I am taking my wife with me. It is going to be our anniversary and we wanna be together.  On the road, I get lonesome without her and she SAYS :dunno: :roflsmiley: she misses me.

I am working hard everyday I can while im at home getting my shop ready for business.  MOPARAL SPEED & Equ

Money is great to have, but my family has got to be my first choice.  I'd rather be at home and try to make ends meet then away from home, family and friends while my life just passes by.

I would stay home also. Hard to get anything done on your car when its here and you are there. You seem to have a good job that gets you home on the weekend and being newly married that would seem to be a top priority. Just my  :2cents:

Yea they try to work with me on getting me home.  I really think I will get another offer from them soon for next year.  I also told the recruiter that my contract does not run out till January.  He said to keep his number just in case.  I would go over if nothing else would turn up.  Just to much action in Afganistan and too rough of turain.

you wouldn`t hear me complain if I made 1/4 of the half you are talking about...  still wouldn`t want to miss my wife and seeing my son grow up for twice that same half...  :2cents:

I understand what you are saying that is why I took the job I am on now.  So I could be home on the weekends and still be able to get some parts for my car as I go along.  I hope to be able to get a garage so I can start on my car real soon.  I just do not want to be away from my wife and I get to see my kids every now and then also.  Just want to get my car done if you understand that also.  I hope I can get another job with them after the first of the year.  Just wories me some about that.
