Wanted: 69 or 70 B-Body
« on: August 21, 2009 - 12:02:14 AM »
Hey Guys
Just sold the corvette,  :woo:  so Im on the lookout for a decent original project car. A 69 or 70 Roadrunner, GTX, Coronet or similar to replace it with.
Something we can just jump in and drive, and as original as possible. Actually, not going doesnt really bother me, but the body must be in decent condition, and a good interior.
Ive already checked Ebay and Craigs List, and I know its a long shot, but I was hoping someone here might know of something.  :dunno:

I know one of my buddies had a 70 Hemi orange 440 6 Road Runner for sale a few weeks back. Original V code, matching #'s
I don't know if he still has it, but I'll be driving by his place at noon time today.
I can check and see if it's still there.
Here's a vid of it......

(don't pay attention to the non vinyl top runner pics in Nova Scotia, that is his other Runner that he had a while back)
The car is located in Worcester, MA.................assuming he still has it   :dunno:

Thanks Jeff
That sure is one awesome RoadRunner
Probably a bit outside my budget though  :walkaway:
Im looking more for a good running project, but there dont seem to be many around that arent either fully restored or completely destroyed.

Didn't know you were going the project route  :bricks1:
Good luck in your search

Thanks Jeff

Thanks Jeff.   :2thumbs: My fault.
I adjusted the post to say "project car".
I was hoping to find a decent rebuildable (complete) car, but it seems there arent many left.  :(
Unfortunately our New Zealand Dollar only buys 65 cents USD, so the conversion rate makes them really expensive.  :crying:

I've got two, for decent prices too, but unfortunatly they are outside your year range.

67 Satellite, 2dr hardtop, 383 4bbl, original H code car. Solid body overall, needs lower rear quarters and a trunk floor. 110 cyl psi 383 with a freshly rebuilt automatic. Needs engine electrical and cooling hooked up to run. New front harness, and comes with a bunch of spare parts $3000

74 satellite, 4 dr wagon with third row seat. Highly optioned car in almost all original condition. I swapped the 318 for a 360 4bbl and drive it regularly. Cruises the highway pretty smoothly and with Cragars all arond, looks period correct. Small rust in one quarter, surface rust on roof and hood. New paint job and this would look like new. Also has a few spare parts that come with it $2200.

Thanks anyway HP2, but not exactly what I was looking for. Sounds like decent prices though.

Thanks Oldschool.
Thats definitely along the correct lines, and a nice looking Sport Satellite, but I was hoping for a RR.

Just an update to advise the search is over, as we found a 1970 340 Challenger.  :woohoo:
I know we wanted a RR, but we stumbled across it while looking for a RR, and just couldnt resist it.
It is a numbers matching B5 Blue car and still has the original paint. It looks like it hasnt seen the light of day for about 10 years or more.
It needs a little bit of re-work as the trunk floor and Sail Panel has been half done, so it requires finishing, but it is the only rust the car has. The rest is really solid.

Thanks again for everyones help.
