Just  ( thankfully!) getting back into Mopars ( sorry I strayed boys! :screwy:) what's the best Mopar show in your opinion? I went to Carlisle this year and loved it! Just came back from Moparfest and while about a quarter the size of Carlisle the prices on parts and cars was much cheaper!  If you could only make it to one show . Which one would you pick? Must be some on the west coast too? Just thinking it would be nice to hear about show's I haden't considered  or heard about?

Well the farthest west I've ever been was for Mopar Nats. when it was held at Indy. The furtherest east/north/south has been Carlisle (large shows), and my personal vote is  :    CARLISLE   :2thumbs:  Two biggest reasons is the show cars..........and the PEOPLE, aka c-c.c people.

I can go to any number of drag races/strips in a short distance from home, so the current Mopar Nats. attraction of drag racing is not that "important" to me personally. As far as parts/swap meets, unless you can't find it any where else, don't buy them at any major meet.......$$$$$$$$$.   :2cents:

It's around 1800 miles one way for us to get to Carlisle. If I could only go to one it would be Carlisle. Although it's a lot of money so we cannot make it every year. The Mopar Nats are great but I still think Carlisle is the place to go!!!!!!!!! We made it for the first time in 05 and then again in 07. I would just love to go every year but that's not possible. I will see you guys in 2010 for the Trans Am Reunion.

You guys are just saying Carlisle because I was there.

I'm interested in how the Vegas show MATS compares to Carlisle or the Mopar Nats in Ohio.    :feedback:

You only live once, so I might be heading to Vegas if it seems like the show is worth it.

I agree with you Rare, it is a long way for me also, it was really good, but not something I could do every year.

Mike, I would like to fly out to the mopars at the strip, bet it is a good show, never been there

there are a lot of good shows & I like different shows for different reasons ,

I like the Mats for the racing & very well run smaller type of show where I am more anonamous & can enjoy the show more .

Carlise is awesome for the people , the show is poorer run & has no racing but I love it for what it is .

The Nats is fun too & has the racing & good swap meet , it is one heck of a party

I had several friends in America tell me Las Vegas was good and I tried to get there last time 2 years ago but couldn't swing the time, the swap meet is a bit pricey though. I definetly would like to get to Carlisle just to see all the great MOPARS, one day!!

Neil,
Is it just a typo or is there a "Mats" and a "nats" are they 2 different shows? Newbie question I know! I remember you talking about the Vegas show. How does that compare to Carlisle and the Nats in Ohio?

Thanks for clearing that Up R/T!
So there are just 3 major shows then? Carlisle, Nats, and Mats?

I think those are the three biggest.  I went to MATS last year - great show.  I'm hoping to make it out to Carlisle sometime in the next few years.  There's also Spring Fling and Fall Fling at Woodley Park in the Los Angeles area, Mopar Alley in San Jose, the Capital City Mopar show in Sacramento, Mopars at the Battleship somewhere on the Gulf Coast (Mobile?  Biloxi?)  I'm sure there are several others, but those are the ones that stick in my mind.

In the mid west area there is also the Spring Classic at National Trails Raceway in June and Fall Classic at Norwalk Raceway in September. Both are bassically the same format as the Nats., drag racing with also show cars. But the the shows I beleive are set up and managed by different people, not the same people who put on the Nats.

Nice shows (I've never been to Norwalk) but I guess I never thought of them as "major" or big shows.

For drag racing . . . the NATS in Ohio is the place to go.  There is a large turn out of show cars, venders and swap meet.  There is also a good size area for cars for sale.

Carlisle is great for show cars.  They are lined up by make and year and there is a bunch of them.  But this is the club meet and that is well worth the trip just for that!

Las Vegas I went to once but although I enjoyed the show, I thought it was small.  There is a ton of space there and the show hardly dents the area of pavement.  It has drag racing, show cars and if lucky, an air show from the local air force base. I have heard that it gets bigger every year and it have been a few years since I was there. I think I went in '05.
