Bodies are in the works by an oufit in Canada if the rumors turn out to be true.

Watch all the re-body guys / VIN swap crowd go nuts when / if that happens........

Just wondering what some of you guys think a new body would go for if this was to come true .

I'm not sure about the rest of you but here in the north east the bodies rusted away in the salt and this would be great for us .

I never bought anything like a new repo car body but I'm pretty sure others are out there . I'm thinking 5 or 6 k would be my high . Am I close ?  :stirpot:

I talked to the company that said they were working one one at the Barrie Automotive flea market. They said it was to be on the market LAST Christmas! Maybe the resesion killed the project or Chrysler but the brakes on it? :dunno: But they told me $15-$18 Grand!( :22yikes: for a body in white)

If the bodies are going to be 15 to 18k then I will steer away from them and not worry about that any more.  I have most of the parts to build a new body anyways.
Got a pretty good start on my M46 optioned Barracuda restoration but now it is on hold till I can gather more funds.  Still need a few parts for it.  SIU Graduate 75 AAS Automotive Tech, 94 BS Advanced Tech Studies, 1997 MSED Workforce Education and Development

As several people have said...Dashpads.

For a while, I was communicating with a guy from Mopar's aftermarket product development group about that, but I think he is no longer around.  To make a long story short, I found the company that owns the company that owns the former company that made the original dashes.  Since the original drawings are presumably long gone, I offered to support Chrysler however I could to have a current supplier quote production of dashpads, but I never heard back.  Oh well...

OK Tom, I'll bite.. How about a name of the company that owns the company that owns the former company that made the original dashes.

The Mopar aftermarket product development guy- Was his name Hakim by any chance?

From what I understand, the original drawings do presumably exist....

71 Cuda grills are very close to being made.  Mike from BE&A has all the drawings done as well as some of the tooling.  IF you need one, call him up and let him know.

He said he needs to sell some more of his 70 Cuda grills before he can get the 71's started.  If you need a 70 grill he has some really nice argent ones as well as black ones for AAR's.

Dan:
I wasn't trying to be coy...Just making a long story short!  My original dashpad was made by Davidson Manufacturing in Farmington MA.  Davidson was bought and sold before being acquired by Collins & Aikman.  If you are anywhere around the auto industry, you know that C&A doesn't even exist anymore, and the assets were acquired by some private equity firm a few years ago.

No, not David Hakim.  Someone else entirely.  Back when they were re-starting the product licensing a couple years ago, Mopar was asking what products people wanted.  I started a dialogue about several products, including dashpads.  Doesn't look like it will ever happen now!
