Lower door hinge repair
« on: August 22, 2009 - 01:46:49 PM »
I am surprised that dodge would have bushings in the top hinge, but nothing in the bottom hinge. My bottom hinges are in tough shape. Does anyone know where i can get a repair kit for these lower ones? I am assuming that some company has seen the errors of the dodge way and have something to remedy this problem. :1zhelp:

Does this kit not do both? ... I see 2-different length pins.

I think all the kits I have seen do both.

I got a full kit off ebay but only needed the parts for the bottom hinges.

I bet your "S" springs are worn out as well !?

Great! Thanks guys. I guess you just have to drill out the lower hinge brackets, so as they would recieve the brass insert. :2thumbs:

yeah, it's probably not brass but phosphor bronze or something.

I am wondering how long they will last; there's a lot of pressure on them !!

I appreciate it Dan, but i already ordered a repair kit. I'll try this kit first and if that don't work, i will give you a holler. Thanks
