As Barry noted both the Yellow and Blue Mod Tops were carried forward into 1970. There is at least one V-code Cuda with the blue mod top.

I guess I should also note that only Plymouths were Mod Top cars.

In 1969 the Barracuda could be had with a yellow Mod top or a yellow Mod interior or both.

The Satellite was available with a blue top, interior or both.

No Dodge was a Mod Top. They were floral top cars offered. The top was predominantly green. They were available on the Dart and Coronet including the Super Bee. Yes there is at least one A12 Floral Top car.

There were other interesting tops like too.

Most of you have seen Gator Tops which were predominantly brown. The Tortoise grain top was a similar color but more goldish. The 1970 and 1971 Gran Fury was available with a brown paisley print top. The 1970 Newport Cordoba had a gold Aztec print top. The 1971 Imperial had a top that was originally maroon that faded showing a printed pattern beneath it. That was not intended. Later there was a green gator top offered on the Charger and Coronet and a reptile grain print for the Duster. I might be missing one or two

Other manufacturers offered odd stuff too, but I think that Mopars had the lion's share of them. I have an NOS green houndstooth top for a Mustang Grande that i bought off eBay a few years ago.

By the way if anyone knows where I can find a nice NOS blue floral front seat for a 1969 Satellite I need one. :)

This was on eBay. Someone had a Gator Grain top Gran Coupe that they were selling with an NOS Tortoise Grain top. I told them several times that they had the wrong top and offered to buy the top off of them. Eventually they put the top on the car. :(

This top in not correct for this car but I figured I'd post it for you to see.

I saw that Road Runner in Albuquerque last summer. Looks retro for sure but its definitely not my thing. Probably worth a bunch for the rarity though.

Brett, that RR was at the MoparFest put on by the NM Mopar Muscle Club last year.  I was there classing cars and selling parts in the swap meet area and running around all day.  Too bad we didn't meet up...who knows, we maybe we did  :dunno:  Next time for sure  :grinyes:

You know whats odd Earl? I saw a nice used set of seat covers there but was tight on money. They looked pretty good and were white deluxe covers that I prefer over the standard 71 seat covers, did you have them there? I did not spend much time in the swap area but did talk briefly with a couple of people. Would be weird if we met and did not know it lol.

The top is one of those vinyl decal wraps and is not a factory top.

Yeah it was not available from the factory right? The couple were very nice and explained how they made the top and that it was not original.

I rememeber when I was little having a table cloth that looked alot like a mod top...

Man, you beat me to the punch on the tablecloth comment.  :roflsmiley:

Love it or hate it, it's amazing what got produced back then compared to the total lack of options or individuality on today's cars.

I had one of the Snakeskin Gold Dusters a couple years ago. Too bad the previous owner left it in the sun and it cracked & peeled.  :faint:
