Avoid silicone & silicone based products for ANY body work applications pre-paint. Paint will not stick to silcone or silcone residue.

A-TA, the silicone was to go in the spots where they had some goo(for the lack of a better term) between the skin & the frame, the guts of both were coated with por 15 to keep the lid from rerusting.this time around all exterior panels will get epoxy prime to seal the metal & then body work.
Yea bb, once was not enough!
The 73 is still waiting on the interior, seat covers, insulation, carpet & headliner.

works been off for three years now, dropped a little the first 2 & off the cliff last year, this year may be worse so no big bucks going to the car, figgered for a couple hundred I could start on a few panels for the 74, got old parts, scrap metal, the welder & misc primers & putty left over, so I can start on the labor intensive stuff, keeping myself busy & not laying out big bucks.
might get the cheaper stuff, liner & carpets & just wait on the seats, just not in any rush, the sooner I'm on the road the sooner the tickets will be comming! :naughty: Rich.

Wow  it's been awhile, fender & trunk lid are back on the car & I just picked up the header panel, valance & pass fender from the blasters, fenders gonna take a lot of work, the front end of this car must have been hit a few times, all the brackets & the hood latch/horn support are bent, I hope I can get em straight again. Rich.

Got some of the old cut away & some new ready to go in, outside patch is on & did a few pinholes, gotta work on that front dropoff so I can por15 the back & the guts ,then the inner brace will go on.

Problem is I only have the 2!
header panel is pretty beat too, this car was well used & abused, all the brackets on the front pieces are bent.
started to pull out a couple of the braces, end one the bolt holes are all ovaled out & the next one over the grille retainer slot is gone.

Thanks, but the brace is there, that one shinny piece, had one leftover from the other car, but I'll keep you in mind if some other odd piece is beyond my basic talents! :2thumbs: Rich.
