I think it's haunted!

First I lost my brake lights, turn on my headlights and the headlights do go on but my fuel gauge, oil pressure gauge and temp allmax out. What's going on with it. Is it another turn signal switch?

Sounds like a voltage thing to me.  If I've got my wipers, my headlights and my radio on I tend to not have enough volts to "pop" the turn signals and the lights will dim with each pass of the wipers.  Do you know how much voltage is coming into the car?

I would check the gauge grounds and the one ground through the headlamp switch bracket (metal frame on back of the switch plastic bezel) that grounds through the dash frame when the screw is installed.

Thanks ntstlgl1970, it was the ground for the switch! I forgot I had powdercoated the dash frame and there was not a connection there I still have no brake lights or front right turn signal. Any ideas?

Yeah, the original parts seem to frequently have no or completely inadequate corrosion protection on them, which makes for a good ground. Often, it seems, when people put a good finish on them, the grounds get disrupted.

For the brake lights, does your hazard flasher work? If not it may be just a bad fuse. Light sockets have a good ground to the light housing?
For the turn signal, bulb?, make sure the steering column connector is well seated (the one that is pointed on one end) Blulkhead connector well seated.

Does anything change with the headlamps turned on? Like Dodj mentioned, check the connectors and grounds. A test light should help you sort this out quickly.

Hazards could be a bad or missing flasher , there are 2 seperate flashers for the turn signals & hazards
 start tracing the brake light circuit , the power goes from the fuse panel top the switch on the pedal & then up the column to the turn signal switch then out to the rear brake lights

Check the fuse. The brake lights and hazard lights are the same fuse.

Ok, checked the fuse and it was blown. Now I have hazards, turn signals but no brakes. I have power to both sides of the fuse but no power at the brake switch at the pedal. I know it a very short pink wire and I also checked the back of the fuse panel to be sure it's still connected and it is. So I have power up to the switch and then lose it. Am I missing something?

If you have power to one side of the switch and nothing on the other when the brake pedal is depressed, your brake switch is bad. To prove it out you could jumper the switch temporarily to see if your brake lights come on. But you still could have a ground in your brake light circuit. It would be a good idea to visually check the wiring looking for a ground. That fuse blew for a reason.

the power from the brake lamp switch then goes into the column to the turn signal switch, the switch directs what circuits get power. If jumping the brake light switch blows the fuse, then it's starting to sound like it is in the column.  Does anyone have the diagram of the turn signal switch itself? the regular diagram just shows the connector only.

It was the brake light switch. Found it after I jumped it. Thanks dodj and ntstlgl1970. You guys helped a bunch! :cheers:
