Ok...thanks to 72 RTChallenger, i have a really nice horn button now for my two spoke wheel....Thanks Terry!

BUT.......I guess I am an idiot.

I figured it just snaps on......

But cant seem to get it on there.......dont want to push TOO hard and break it....

Is there a trick?  I measured the hole on the horn electrical part and then the prongs on the button/cover...seems like it should work....... :clueless: :1zhelp:

I feel pretty dumb right about now...LOL

One thing is that  :useless:

If you showed what you are talking about it would be easier for me to help any way,   :2cents:

Dont be shy, center the button and slap it on with the palm of your hand. It will go right on :2thumbs:

For what it's worth, a tuff wheel horn button looks like a 3-spoke button, but won't fit. I assume the 2-spoke wheel uses the same horn ring as the 3-spoke, so maybe you got a horn button from a tuff wheel?

I am guessing that is the case.  It is so close....

Iam wondering if I can reem out my horn electrical part to make it fit.....?  Looks like the hole is about 11/16" too small.....

Tried pressing it on hard but I think i just bent the tangs a bit.... :swear:

It definitely sounds like you have a Tuff wheel horn button. I even broke off a couple of tines, and it still wouldn't fit.   :pullinghair: If your horn button works, maybe use a Dremel tool on it to reem it out a bit.  Oh...I hope you meant 1/16th inch and NOT 11/16.   :eek7:

I finally won one on this car !

I used a die grinder and reemed the hole on the horn button a bit (took it off the wheel first).....

Kept reeming til it looked "just right".....snapped it right on.

WOO HOO!

Thanks for the moral support guys..

The standard woodgrain wheel for the 70-71 E-body has a smaller horn cap adapter than the 72-74 standard 2-spoke wheel or the Tuff Wheel. I'm thinking the switch and adapter is from the E-body woodgrain wheel. The switches are all the same from 68 up on almost all wheels, just different adapters mounted to them.

Well that would make some sense.....I know the steering column that is in this car isnt original to it...it had a column typoe shift column in it...I rebuilt it with new collars etc....

Hmmmmm....what you are saying is that I probably ruined a woodgrain wheel switch.....  :-[
