Knot a piece of rope once every furlong. Tie a log to one end, the other to the dash, and toss it out the window. Count how many knots go by in 4 seconds. The count will be miles per hour.

Leave it to an engineer to come up with a nice simple solution. :smilielol:

There's a member here, who sells them cheaper than RTeng., but I do not recall his name, sorry. Maybe a vendor search would yield some results?

Maybe Instrument Specialties, they did the group buy on the cluster work.  I believe they sell the pointers painted or unpainted.

I think a furlong is 660 feet?, so just one furlong in 4 seconds would mean about 120mph!!
I think you need a lot more knots. :clapping:

Ack, you're right. I'd thought a furlong was 6 feet.
