"Chrome" Billboard Stripes?
« on: August 28, 2009 - 03:21:13 AM »
I just received my black billboard stripes in the mail the other day to put on my black '73.
Haven't put them on yet.
I was driving through town today and saw a truck with chrome lettering on the side and it got me to thinking.  :naughty:
Has anyone done chrome billboards? Any pictures?
An all black car with chrome billboards I think would look pretty sharp?
Yes/No?
I think the sign shop could scan my black ones for a pattern and be able to cut them in chrome?

I have not seen that yet and yes it would be a first.  Not sure that it would look real good with them chrome.  I am not a big fan of billboards anyways.   :2cents:

Yeah, if anybody has some 'chop skillz please post up.

The chrome material does not conform well at all.  I am not sure how good it work...I can do it for you but cannot warranty them...

Personally I think too much chrome looks terrible on any vehicle, and chrome billboards I think would be too much. Just my opinion. It would be pretty unique though.

I'm thinking that would look pretty kool, it would reflect the black paint. I agree, a pic would be worth seeing in photoshop

Chrome will show every little defect/distortion in the surface. Even if you could install it flawlessly, it would look like crap.

Here's some of the material from a Ferrari that has been made to look like a highly reflective gold plating...Maybe someone could use a section of that to get the proper sheen for some chrome billboards to be PS'ed onto a 'Cuda. :dunno:
