gas tank ground
« on: August 30, 2009 - 09:30:45 AM »
Finally laid out my old rear wiring beside my new M and H wiring and and found i had an extra wire thru the grommet and beside the fuel sending wire.I marked it,about 4 years ago when i took the cuda apart,as one end ground to the tank and the other thru that grommet and ground to a trunk brace.Im not sure if this is factory or not,but looks like it was added.Cant find any reference to it in the service manual either.Anyone have any thoughts? Is ther supposed to be a ground?

there is a clip about 6" long that snaps over the fuel line , it just jumps the rubber hose & grounds to the main fuel line going forward through the car

It sounds as if someone was trying to bypass the clip and make a more direct/secure ground. I have seen several articles/posts at others sites that just say bypass the stock ground strap.  :clueless:

I did have some issues with the new strap not being tight but it was easily rectified, of course patience is a virtue and boy did I need a lot of virtue.   :pullinghair:
