I made a last minute decision to go to Rockingham Dragway with a buddy of mine and was glad I did. I gassed up the Cuda and drove 2 hours to the track. With little more than a 20 minute cool down I dropped the air pressure on the drag radials and went straight out on the track. First pass out I spun all the way through 1st gear and let out of it on the big end and still managed a 12.51 @ 106mph (mph low cause I let out of it). Totally screwed that one up!! :swear: ::) Went back to the pits and let it cool down for another 1/2 hour and added a couple degrees of timing. Next pass out I calmed down and loaded the converter a little not to hit the tires so hard and boy what a difference!!! 1.61 sixty foot, 7.23 @ 96mph in the 1/8 mile and 11.38 @ 116.96 in the quarter!!!!!! I backed that up later with a 11.43@115 with slightly slower 1.64 60ft. I'm extremely happy with this for several reasons. First I took the car down the track in the exact trim as I drive it on the street. It was above 90 degrees, humid and a strong head wind coming up the track. The car is full weight with a 250lbs driver. The suspension is 100% original with no traction aids. (Caltracs coming soon!) Lastly I have done little to no tuning on the car. There is still alot left in the car especially in launching the car and working with the suspension. I feel that with more tuning and better weather I can get this rig into the low 11s, maybe high 10s! The best feeling was guys coming by the car saying that they thought for sure it was a 440. I had one guy argue with me about that saying no way a 340 could be that fast!! I'm stoked!!  :bananasmi :jumping:

I run M/T drag radials that are 275/50/15. Rear gear is 3.73s

11.38, thats a very good time.

Howmuch TQ/HP does that 340 have?

I put it on a chassis dyno (Dynojet) about a year ago and it put down 400 rwhp and 400 rwtq. Since then I have out the entire exhaust system to TTI long tubes and full 3'' exhaust with an x pipe. I also made a couple of other changes which by the seat of the pants feels like it is up to around 430 rwhp (well north of 500hp flywheel). I'll be back to the dyno soon to confirm this as I will be doing some more tuning to it.

I think it's feaking sweet that you accomplished this w/o a set 4.10s or 4.56s.

So it's fairly streetable?  How much vacuum does it pull?
